Mac OS X Lion worldwide pricing announced but with some surprising shocks

Apple recently surprised us all with its new pricing strategy for Mac OS X Lion when they said they would be slashing the price from $129 to pnly $29.99. Here's the strange part as in most places the prices have lowered since snow leopard which cost $29 but in the USA and Canada prices have risen by 3%. The main reason for the sacings are because Lion is only being shipped on the Mac App Store and not on digital disk. Oh the joy for slow internet users everywhere.
